There’s something special about a weekend getaway that manages to feel both luxurious and completely relaxed, especially when traveling with children. Our recent stay at Four Seasons Orlando delivered exactly that perfect balance – a blend of family fun, culinary delights, and touches of luxury that made our short vacation feel like a true escape.
Though we visited during what locals might consider “cooler” weather (60s to low 70s), the resort’s heated pools made swimming a comfortable experience. The girls immediately took to the water, unbothered by the temperature outside. One of the highlights was definitely floating along the lazy river – that perfect way to be both relaxed and entertained simultaneously.
On Saturday, we experienced one of the resort’s unique offerings – a dive-in movie at the family swimming pool. The kids absolutely LOVED this! I was curious how you would be able to see the screen in the sun, but they had a really high tech LED screen that made it perfectly viewable from any spot in or around the pool.
Activities for Everyone
The Four Seasons Orlando truly understands that a successful family vacation needs to balance togetherness with opportunities for everyone to enjoy their own interests.
While Jordan and I indulged in some much-needed relaxation at the spa, the girls were happily engaged at the Kids For All Seasons club. They came back ready to share stories about the activities and new friends they’d made.
The Hideout, the resort’s family game room, became another favorite spot. Between swimming sessions, we’d head in for some friendly competition and games, and this is the perfect place to cool off in when the weather gets hot, or on a cooler day like we had to spend some time indoors, but not stuck in your room.
One morning, we embraced our active side with a family session of basketball, soccer, and pickleball. We never let a vacation go by without some sort of family competition (and it helps to work up an appetite for the culinary delights that awaited us!).

Culinary Adventures
Speaking of food – the dining experiences at Four Seasons Orlando were nothing short of exceptional. The absolute highlight was introducing Jordan and the girls to their first Michelin-star dining experience at Capa. Watching their eyes widen at the presentation of each course and seeing them discover new flavors was worth every penny.
We also enjoyed the Disney character brunch on property – which is so nice to be able to walk down from your room and have that iconic Disney experience right on property.
And I have to mention our daily tradition: ice cream at Lickety Split. The girls insisted on this becoming our daily ritual, and who were we to argue with such a delicious treat?

The Little Luxuries
Sometimes it’s the smallest details that make the biggest impression. Our girls always request that we head straight to our room after check-in because Four Seasons knows how to make a kid feel welcome. Sure enough, we were greeted with a delicious display of treats, and the cutest stuffed pets tucked nicely beside the kid’s robes in bed.
The TV embedded in the bathroom mirror was the epitome of luxury to the girls. Suddenly, brushing teeth transformed from a twice-daily chore into an eagerly anticipated activity. It’s these thoughtful touches that demonstrate how well Four Seasons understands both luxury and family needs.
Our suite was spacious enough for our family of four to spread out comfortably, with views of the Disney firework show every evening.

The Perfect Balance
What made our stay at Four Seasons Orlando truly exceptional was how effortlessly it balanced luxury with family-friendliness. Often, high-end resorts can feel stuffy or unwelcoming to children, while family-oriented destinations sometimes lack the refinement that parents appreciate.
Four Seasons Orlando somehow manages to be genuinely welcoming to children while maintaining the sophisticated service and atmosphere that makes parents feel they’re having a special experience too.
For our family of four, it proved to be the perfect weekend getaway – enough activities to keep everyone engaged, enough luxury to feel truly special, and an atmosphere that let us all relax and connect. Sometimes a short break is all you need when it’s filled with the right experiences, and Four Seasons Orlando certainly delivered exactly what our family neede
We’re already plotting our return!
